Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking operations. In this role, you will operate, program, and maintain CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality components with exceptional accuracy. Your expertise will help ensure that our products meet stringent specifications and quality standards, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. This position offers an energetic environment where your mechanical skills and attention to detail will drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Duties

Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code to produce complex parts efficiently.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files (SolidWorks, CAD) to accurately machine components.
Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including grinders and tooling setups, to maintain peak operational efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for accurate machining processes.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools for assembly or repair tasks as needed.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
Conduct CNC quality inspections during production runs to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and machine logs for traceability.

Experience

Proven experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming using G-code/M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings with GD&T specifications.
Proficient in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical blueprints accurately.
Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments.
Knowledge of metal machining techniques including turning on CNC lathes, grinding operations, and plastics injection molding processes is advantageous.
Ability to operate forklifts, power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other shop machinery safely.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
