Optometrist – VA Disability Evaluations

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,400.00 per day
Job Type: Part-Time | Contract
Location: Jackson, Mississippi
Setting: Provider MUST have an established clinic/office in Mississippi. No clinic space is provided.

Flexible Opportunity to Support Our Veterans

Frontera Search is actively recruiting a licensed Optometrist to perform disability eye examinations for U.S. Veterans. This position is ideal for providers who want to add consistent income while maintaining their existing practice.

This is not a traditional clinical position. There are no refractions, prescribing, treatment plans, follow-up visits, or ongoing patient management. The focus is strictly on conducting comprehensive disability evaluations and completing objective medical documentation.

Position Details

Part-Time Contract
Approximately 3 weekdays per week
Provider performs exams in their own established Mississippi clinic
Up to 5 Veteran evaluations each day
Flexible weekday schedule
Electronic documentation system provided
Start date following credentialing

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive eye examinations for disability evaluations
Assess ocular health and visual function
Complete accurate electronic documentation
Follow standardized VA examination and reporting guidelines
Maintain professional communication with Veterans and clinic staff
Ensure timely completion of required reports

Qualifications

Required

Doctor of Optometry (OD)
Active Mississippi Optometry license
Established clinic or office in Mississippi available for Veteran examinations

Preferred

Prior VA disability examination or IME experience
EMR experience
