Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatch/Load Tracer to join our operations team. Responsibilities
- Monitor and track freight shipments using GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and transportation management systems
- Coordinate dispatch activities by assisting drivers or carriers, ensuring efficient routing and timely deliveries.
- Maintain real-time communication with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via phone systems and phone call management protocols.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, update freight statuses, and perform data entry accurately within logistics software l
- Analyze shipment data to identify delays or issues, proactively resolving problems through effective communication and dispatch adjustments.
- Utilize analysis skills to optimize routes, improve fleet management efficiency, and support supply chain operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during dispatching activities while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transportation planning, dispatching, or logistics coordination in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking, transportation management systems
- Familiarity with freight shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams via phone calls or digital platforms.
- Basic typing skills for data entry tasks
- Analysis skills to interpret transportation data for operational improvements.
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts and transportation planning principles is highly desirable.
