Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on Human Resources Manager working in the Mississippi office to assist with the HR function across our logistics and warehouse operations in Mississippi, Tennessee and West Virginia. As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and talent development for a diverse, multi-site workforce. You will play a strategic role in reducing turnover, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering a positive, high-performance work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Assist with leading high-volume recruitment strategies for warehouse associates, forklift drivers, dispatchers, and logistics professionals.
- Design and implement aggressive driver and warehouse staff retention strategies.
- Manage robust onboarding and orientation programs that emphasize safety standards and company values.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all HR practices and strictly adhere to DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and all federal/state employment laws.
- Partner closely with the Safety and Operations teams to enforce workplace safety and manage workers' compensation claims.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Serve as a primary liaison between management and frontline employees, resolving grievances and fostering an open-door culture.
- Champion a safety-first and accountability-driven culture across all fleet operations and terminal/warehouse sites.
- Administer performance management systems and drive recognition/engagement programs.
Compensation & HR Operations
- Assist with payroll processing, benefits administration, and compensation structures to ensure competitiveness in the logistics industry.
- Utilize HR analytics to monitor turnover rates, track recruitment metrics, and advise senior leadership on workforce trends.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR management experience, ideally in transportation, warehousing, or supply chain.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of a geographically dispersed or multi-site workforce encompassing both hourly and salaried employees. Strong grasp of DOT and OSHA compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR highly desired.
- Skills: Exceptional conflict resolution, strong data-driven decision-making, and proven experience utilizing HRIS platforms.
Responsibilities
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the HR department.
· Assists with the daily workflow of the department including assisting the Operations leadership Team members.
· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Assists the Leadership Team with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Leads Employee Relations matters including investigations, disciplinary action due to company policy and performance violations and concerns.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists the leadership team in understanding the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, Employee Relations and succession planning.
· Provides oversight, guidance and direct supervision to HR Assistant Managers, HR Specialists, generalists, Operations management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and support the execution of routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
· Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Supports the Sr HR Manager in analyzing trends in compensation and benefits; assists with the research of competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, recruitment, and employment law.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
· A minimum of 5 years of human resource management experience preferred.
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Reports to: Sr HR Manager
Pay: $75,165.52 - $85,457.40 per year
