Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing team! In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional tax services to clients, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and supporting the overall financial health of our clientele. Your expertise in accounting, tax preparation software, and client communication will drive success in preparing accurate tax returns and providing insightful financial guidance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in public accounting, partnership and corporate tax, and expand your knowledge of complex tax concepts within a collaborative environment.

Duties

Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other business tax returns using advanced tax reporting and tax preparation software.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws by staying current on updates in tax law and regulations.
Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and bookkeeping records to gather necessary data for accurate reporting.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather required information, explain tax strategies, and answer questions related to their filings.
Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize client financial positions while adhering to legal standards.
Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and providing excellent customer service that builds lasting relationships.
Collaborate with team members on complex tax issues such as partnership taxation and technical accounting challenges.
Maintain meticulous records of all tax documents, correspondence, and filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on tax preparation or compliance.
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of tax law, individual and corporate taxation processes, including partnership and corporate tax expertise.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately using analysis skills and attention to detail.
Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Proficiency in using tax reporting tools and software for efficient document preparation.
Basic math skills coupled with 10 key typing proficiency for data entry accuracy.
Experience in public accounting or working within a professional services environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and technical accounting standards will be considered an asset.
