About the role
The Inventory Specialist works closely with the Inventory Supervisor and Warehouse Leadership to keep our warehouse operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly. This role is a key connector between receiving, inventory control, fulfillment, and production, ensuring inventory accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and supporting event and project shipments. In addition to hands-on inventory and receiving work, the Inventory Specialist helps coordinate workflow and communication when the Inventory Supervisor is unavailable.
This role is intended as a progression opportunity for current Inventory Assistants.
What you'll do:

Receive and process purchase orders, verifying shipments against supplier documentation for accuracy;

Label, record, and store inventory in ShipHero according to company standards;

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and receiving environment;

Support inventory preparation tasks including cycle counts, kitting, labeling, and stock organization;

Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in compliance with all safety policies;

Lead inventory cycle counts and audits to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy;

Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including identifying root causes;

Maintain accurate inventory data in ShipHero, including lot code tracking, bin transfers, and adjustments;

Manage inventory-related tracking in Airtable and other reporting tools;

Coordinate directly with Procurement, Finance, Fulfillment, Production, and Leadership to resolve inventory issues;

Support workflow prioritization and operational continuity when the Inventory Supervisor is unavailable;

Assist with training, documentation, and process improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
Qualifications

At least one year of experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics operations;

Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (ShipHero preferred);

Experience with Airtable, Google Sheets, or similar tracking tools;

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams;
-
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Ability to bend, stretch, twist, stoop, lift (up to 25 lbs), and reach overhead

Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs

Ability to safely climb ladders

Comfort working in hot or cold warehouse environments

Ability to work around fragrant products (coffee, soap, tea, eco-friendly cleaners)

Near vision sufficient to identify close-range details

Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Starting Wage: $20-24/hour DOE
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
