Job Description
The UMSL Music Department is looking to fill a piano accompanist position (Collaborative Pianist) that addresses the needs of the Department's vocal, choral, and instrumental areas. The piano accompanist will potentially serve as the accompanying, rehearsal, and performance pianist for the following:
- Applied Lessons for MUS 14XX, 34XX, 44XX, and 54XX
- Junior Barrier Exams, Jury Examinations, Recital Hearings, Junior/Senior Recitals, and Vocal and Instrumental Auditions
- University Singers (A large auditioned vocal ensemble, focusing on a broad range of choral repertoire)
- Vocal Point (A select vocal ensemble, focusing on a broad range of a cappella choral repertoire)
- Singing Actor’s Workshop (A vocal ensemble, focusing on productions of a variety of repertoire.)
- Outreach programs in the form of the Des Lee Fine Arts Festivals, High School Tours, Acapellalooza Festivals, and Summer Festivals
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have considerable professional experience performing in multiple musical genres as well as extensive experience in accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists, individually and in an ensemble setting. Masters degree required.
