We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join our Product Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals with backgrounds in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related scientific fields who are interested in building a career in research and development.
In this role, you will support product formulation, ingredient research, laboratory testing, and product development projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with our Research & Development team to help bring new products from concept to production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with product formulation, testing, and ingredient research.
- Conduct ingredient evaluations and laboratory testing of new products and raw materials.
- Support the development and improvement of product formulations.
- Research alternative ingredients to improve product performance and cost efficiency.
- Assist with scaling products from laboratory prototypes to production-level manufacturing.
- Monitor and document product performance during initial production runs.
- Maintain organized and accurate product, ingredient, and formulation records.
- Manage ingredient and flavor libraries and ensure data accuracy within company systems.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documents and product information.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately document, manage, and maintain technical information.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Laboratory experience obtained through employment, internships, research projects, or academic coursework.
- Experience with analytical testing, laboratory instrumentation, or scientific research.
- Exposure to food manufacturing, nutritional supplements, quality control, or product development environments.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Experience with formulation or nutritional analysis software is a plus.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to manufacturing and laboratory environments, including noise, dust, odors, and food ingredients.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility.
- Ability to safely work around common food allergens.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
