The Opportunity
Lead the floor that builds precision parts. RB America Corp. — the U.S. arm of Italian precision manufacturer RB SRL — is hiring a Production Director at our Kansas City, MO facility. You'll own daily production across the plant: set the strategy, lead the supervisors and teams, drive quality, safety, and on-time delivery, and partner with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering to keep everything moving. High-impact leadership with room to shape how the plant runs. This is a designated safety-sensitive role. Essential Functions
The following are the essential functions of this position. Performance of these duties — with or without reasonable accommodation — is required.
- Direct and oversee all daily production operations to meet performance, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
- Plan and manage material requirements and replenishment to support production needs, including issuing purchase orders and managing relationships with suppliers of raw materials, machinery, equipment, and related services.
- Develop and execute production plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet output and cost targets.
- Lead, supervise, and develop production supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other team members, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
- Monitor production performance and metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, environmental requirements, and Company policies across the production area.
- Collaborate with the Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering functions to resolve issues, minimize downtime, and maintain operational alignment.
- Establish, monitor, and improve production KPIs, and prepare and present performance reports to executive management.
- Plan labor and capacity to support current demand and Company growth.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, including lean and 5S practices, throughout the department.
- Support long-term planning, capital-equipment decisions, and scalability initiatives within the scope of the role.
- Address employee concerns and performance issues, providing feedback and corrective action as needed, in coordination with Human Resources.
- Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule and the Company's attendance policies. Reliable attendance is essential because production leadership must be in place to support each production shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by executive management consistent with the role.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role is performed in an active manufacturing environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequently stands and walks for extended periods, up to and including the duration of a full shift (typically eight or more hours).
- Frequently performs repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and arms; regularly bends, reaches, and stoops; occasionally climbs ladders or stairs.
- Regularly lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Works in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and airborne particles within OSHA-permissible limits.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other task-specific equipment as required by the Company's safety program.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in manufacturing or production, including at least three (3) years in a production leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of production processes, lean manufacturing, safety standards, and quality-control practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage supervisors and production teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in production planning, data analysis, and performance reporting, including familiarity with ERP systems.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Advanced degree or professional certification in operations, manufacturing, lean/Six Sigma, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a metalworking manufacturing environment, including metal stamping and welding.
- Experience in a precision-manufacturing or federal-contractor environment.
- Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of 5S, continuous-improvement, and OSHA-regulated safety programs.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, salaried exempt position. Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Company reserves the right to modify or reassign the schedule based on operational requirements.
- As a non-production role, this position receives a one (1) hour unpaid meal period per shift, taken in the designated break room or other approved non-production area, away from the work area. Employees are fully relieved of duties during the meal period.
- As a salaried exempt position, this role is not eligible for overtime pay. Production leadership is expected to ensure coverage and support across production shifts as operational needs require.
Pay & Benefits
Salary range: $125,000 – $130,000 per year, based on experience.
