The Sr Technical Resource Librarian will organize, maintain, and administer the FM&T's library of technical standards and resources. In addition to maintaining the technical standards and resources, may maintain the scientific and technical process, coordinate necessary resources and updates with technical leaders and specialists, assist project teams, and special assignments as requested to support technical and information standards.
- Review current resources, identify gaps, and track renewals. Receive requests for new resources and work with vendors to develop a quote to provide new resources.
- Ensure resources are accessible, reliable, and retrievable for the workforce.
- Track FMT's use of technical standards and resources across platforms.
- Prepare reports and statistics on resource usage, user requests and costs to analyze employee activity and resource/database usage. Present findings to management and make recommendations for proposed improvements.
- Coordinate with engineering, science, and technical staff as needed to support organization and managing of the technical standards and resources.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of appropriate resource usage.
- Provide technical and reference services for employees including access assistance, searches, research requests, articles, book requests, and industry standards.
- Survey stakeholders to determine gaps in required information resources, such as articles, manuals of practice, research papers, and other resources.
- Manage, identify gaps, and track the Scientific and Technical Information Program modernization.
- Develop a training program and train the FMT workforce on the requirements and uses of the scientific and technical information processes and journal article publication.
- Provide FMT with resources on the deployment of information services
- Bachelors degree in library and information sciences or equivalent; or equivalent experience
- 5 plus years with demonstrated progression of responsibility in management of a technical library in engineering or science professions or organization of resources across an organization
- Working knowledge of external reference standards, such as ASTM, IEEE, ASCE, ASME, etc.
- Working knowledge of reference standards delivery subscription platforms, such as Accuris Engineering Workbench, MADCAD, and others
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently to achieve results
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- 5 plus years of experience, preferably in a scientific, technical, or engineering library
- Masters degree in library and information sciences or related field
- Proficient with SharePoint
