DESCRIPTION
Experienced Pump Industry Professionals Only
Munro Supply is seeking an experienced Pump Systems Sales Specialist to identify, develop, quote, and manage municipal, industrial, commercial, and irrigation pump system projects throughout Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.
We are looking for someone with proven experience in pump systems, including pump selection, applications, estimating, project management, and technical sales. The ideal candidate has experience working with municipalities, engineers, contractors, industrial facilities, schools, hospitals, mining operations, irrigation districts, and/or water/wastewater systems.
Applicants must have direct experience with pump systems or closely related equipment. Candidates whose experience is limited to general outside sales or unrelated industries will not be considered strong candidates for this role.
JOB DUTIES
Primary
Technical Sales & Project Development
- Develop and grow municipal, industrial, commercial, and irrigation pump system opportunities.
- Identify, qualify, and manage from concept through completion.
- Meet with municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, developers, and industrial customers to identify project opportunities.
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate quotations.
- Work with manufacturers to properly size and select pumps, motors, controls, valves, and related equipment.
- Coordinate project details with customers, manufacturers, and the Munro Supply team.
- Manage projects through quoting, award, delivery, and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
Business Development
- Develop new business while growing existing customer relationships.
- Become a trusted technical resource for customers by providing application support and product expertise.
- Research market opportunities, competitors, and emerging projects throughout the territory.
- Travel regularly throughout Western Colorado and Eastern Utah to meet with customers and prospects.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with inside sales, operations, purchasing, and service personnel.
- Maintain accurate customer and project information within the CRM.
- Participate in trade shows, customer appreciation events, and manufacturer training.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
- Proven experience selling, specifying, quoting, designing, or managing one or more of the following:
Municipal water or wastewater systems
Lift stations
Booster stations
Packaged pump stations
Irrigation pumping systems
Industrial pumping applications
- Ability to read construction drawings, plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, motors, controls, VFDs, valves, piping systems, and related equipment.
- Experience working with municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, or industrial end users.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing pump system quotations and equipment submittals.
- Experience using CRM software.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Stand and / or sit continuously and perform job functions
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions
- Ability to hear and respond to facility commands
- Strong mental agility, including ability to remember short and long term and ability to perform complex analytical tasks
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
LOCATION: Grand Junction, Colorado (Preferred) – Will be required to spend at least one week per month in Western Colorado.
EDUCATION LEVEL: HS diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors degree in business, engineering or a related field preferred
TRAVEL REQUIRED: ~ 60%
COMPENSATION: OTE $60,000-$100,000+, through a base salary and performance-based bonuses
