Online Media Director
Summary
Freedom Church is seeking an Online Media Director to oversee and develop our online media ministry. This role is responsible for producing online services, supporting livestream and media production, managing social media and website content, creating graphics, training volunteers, and helping ensure that Freedom’s online presence reflects the mission and heart of the church.
The Online Media Director will work closely with the Worship Pastor and Worship/Production leadership to create an engaging, worship-centered, and technically excellent online experience for Sunday services, Celebrate Recovery, special events, funerals, weddings, and other ministry gatherings.

Primary Responsibilities Online Service Production
- Produce the online service for Freedom Church events, including Sunday mornings, Celebrate Recovery, Night of Praise, funerals, weddings, and other services as needed.
- Be present and prepared for Sunday morning worship and production meetings, rehearsals, and service run-throughs.
- Attend the Sunday morning Core Team Huddle.
- Serve as needed in production roles including audio, camera, livestream, producing, and related media support.
- Troubleshoot technical issues calmly and effectively, helping volunteers remain confident and encouraged while serving.
- Work with the Worship Pastor and production team to continually improve the quality of online services.
Media Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the Online Media Ministry team with humility, encouragement, and a positive attitude.
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for online audio, livestreaming, camera operation, and future camera switching roles.
- Build unity, trust, and teamwork among media volunteers.
- Plan quarterly volunteer training or team-building opportunities in collaboration with the Worship Pastor.
- Communicate clearly with volunteers and leadership regarding needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking assigned tasks and communicating completion.
Creative and Digital Media
- Create church graphics for both in-house and online use, including service graphics, event graphics, ministry promotions, and occasional apparel or merchandise designs.
- Manage Freedom Church social media accounts, including platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others as needed.
- Create and post engaging content, including sermon clips, reels, stories, announcements, and promotional graphics.
- Post social media stories regularly and maintain a consistent rhythm of graphic or video posts throughout the week.
- Help tell the story of what God is doing through Freedom Church in a creative, engaging, and ministry-focused way.
Website and Online Presence
- Manage and maintain the church website.
- Assist in creating or redesigning a new website in collaboration with the Worship Pastor and church leadership.
- Keep website content current, accurate, and aligned with church communication needs.
- Support online communication efforts that help members, guests, and seekers connect with Freedom Church.
Worship and Production Collaboration
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Worship Pastor and Worship/Production leadership.
- Support improvements in lighting, sound, video, and online presentation.
- Listen to weekly worship songs in advance in order to better understand the service flow and assist the production team effectively.
- Attend volunteer meetings, staff meetings, strategy meetings, and other ministry meetings as requested.
- Assist with ProPresenter programming if needed as the role develops.
- Remain flexible and open to the role expanding as ministry needs grow.
Ministry Philosophy and Alignment
The Online Media Director is expected to support the ministry philosophy and direction of Freedom Church leadership. This includes alignment with the Worship Pastor, Lead Pastor, and the overall mission of the church.
Freedom Church desires every person, whether in the room or watching online, to encounter Jesus Christ in a real and life-changing way. We want our services to be worship-centered, Spirit-led, engaging, biblically faithful, and welcoming to both believers and seekers.
This role requires a heart for ministry, a willingness to serve, and a commitment to supporting decisions made by church leadership, even when they may not reflect personal preference. The Online Media Director should be willing to try new things, think creatively, and help create online services that are engaging, excellent, and spiritually meaningful.
Volunteer Development
A major goal of this position is to build ministry through volunteers. This includes recruiting, training, encouraging, and developing people who can use their gifts in media and production ministry.
The Online Media Director should help volunteers see how God can use them, build relationships with them, and create a healthy serving culture where people feel valued, equipped, and part of the mission.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, a strong understanding of online media, and the ability to lead volunteers well. This person should be creative, organized, technically capable, spiritually mature, and passionate about helping people encounter Jesus through both in-person and online worship experiences.
Summary
The Online Media Director plays an important role in extending the ministry of Freedom Church beyond the walls of the building. Through livestream production, digital content, social media, graphics, website management, and volunteer leadership, this role helps create meaningful opportunities for people to connect with the church and experience the presence of Jesus Christ.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
