Full Job Description

Overview:

Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers provides the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics, and classrooms. We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.

Responsibilities:

Schedules patient's surgery or testing as ordered by the physician
Schedules office and hospital based medical procedures, for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot utilizing scheduling codes
Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding surgery preparation, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed
Takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients
Confirms patient's Insurance provider and obtains prior authorizations when urgent
Ensures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed
Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone
Assists other members of the department as needed
Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
Regular and prompt attendance
Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
Related duties as assigned

Additional Information:

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience Required
- Experience in customer service and/or experience in a healthcare setting Preferred
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
