Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Boat Buyer, in the Daphne area, to be focused and specifically trained to acquire additional inventory for the dealerships by actively prospecting both outside of the Ocean Marine Customer Network and existing customers. The Acquisition Specialist will utilize all available prospecting resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their boat. Resources include existing customer database, third party websites, dealer networks, and bank repossessions. This Specialist will enjoy consistent interaction with customers throughout the day, both in person and over the phone. This person will make both warm and cold contact with prospects who have their boats advertised for sale, both online and as walk-ins to the store. He/she will set appointments with potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal, and guide customers through either our purchase or consignment process.

If you have strong negotiating skills, organization skills, and a go get ‘em mentality, then you have the tools needed to be a successful Acquisition Specialist in the fun and exciting boating industry.

Prior buying experience is desired but not required. We have an industry leading training program. Past experience in sales of boat/auto/RV/and powersports makes for a strong start.

Responsibilities include procuring inventory for our market leading pre-owned operation, negotiating purchase/consignment deals, managing inventory processing, appropriately managing the customer’s expectations, and communicating effectively throughout the entire buying process.

Pay+:

$70,000 - $150,000

Job Responsibilities:

Review boat evaluation reports
Determine wholesale and retail prices
Inspect and accept boats arriving onsite
Create and execute reconditioning plan to prepare boat for sale
Using sound judgement, research, and excellent interpersonal skills to make offers on boats and close sales
Turn prospective boat owners into potential trade opportunities
Work with management to identify inventory needs.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.
Extremely self-motivated
Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
Ability to drive an exceptional customer experience.
Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
Organization and follow-up skills.
Experience and desire to work with technology.
Valid In-State Driver's License and an acceptable, safe driving record

Organizational Relationships:

This position interacts daily with, Sales Associates, Sales Managers, Service Advisors, Service Director, Financial Services Manager, and other support staff.
