Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to join our civil infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces efficiently and safely. Your expertise in construction machinery maintenance, paving equipment operation, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure high-quality paving projects that meet project specifications and standards. Responsibilities
Operate asphalt pavers, screeds, and related paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces with precision and efficiency.
Ensure proper setup and calibration of paving machinery, including screeds and concrete pumps, to achieve desired surface levels and smoothness.
Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and concrete mixers to maintain optimal performance.
Follow safety protocols and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to maintain a safe work environment on construction sites.
Assist with the installation of rebar, formwork, and other foundational elements necessary for paving projects.
Coordinate with team members to manage construction site logistics, including material delivery, concrete pumping, and equipment positioning.
Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, project progress, and safety inspections to ensure compliance and accountability.
Experience
Previous experience operating paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, screeds, and concrete mixers in a civil infrastructure setting is required.
Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and concrete pumps is highly desirable.
Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines and basic mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.
Familiarity with working on construction projects involving concrete finishing, rebar installation, formwork, and site preparation is preferred.
Understanding of safety regulations including DOT standards, construction site safety protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Proven ability to work effectively on large-scale infrastructure projects with a focus on quality workmanship and safety compliance.
Construction site experience involving concrete pouring, paving operations, and working with bituminous materials will be considered an asset.
