Job Title: Service Technician- Senior

Employment Status: Full time (6-month probation period)

40 hours per week, or additional hours as needed

4/10 Work Schedule

On call rotation

Salary Wage: $40.00 - $55.00 (Depending on Experience and Qualifications)

Job Description:

Quality Service Inc. is in the Central California Valley and has been in business for over 25 years. Our primary focuses are in the water and wastewater industries. We are seeking an individual for the position of Senior Field Technician. This individual must possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a journeyman level industrial technician and 2 years in management or support role is desired, a strong background in industrial maintenance, service and installation knowledge and professional skillset is mandatory. The individual needs to have an extensive range of knowledge and experience in electrical (all applications AC, DC, 3 phase, 1 phase, controls, switches, PLC’s, HMI, etc.), mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatic, valves, piping, welding and fabricating. This is a field position that requires working in all weather conditions and different environments, working independently and with other team members, clients, regulators and contractors. Professional presentation at all times is required. Knowledge of safety procedures and implementation of safety programs is required. Additional responsibilities include project evaluations, troubleshooting, creating material lists, and assistance with developing estimates. It is essential to clearly and precisely communicate in all forms (verbal, written, e-mails, notes, etc.), maintain accurate records and work logs. The successful candidate will improve current processes, take the initiative to increase production and elevate our company’s level of service provided.

Desirable Licenses or Certificates:

Valid California class C driver’s license that is approved by our insurance provider
Safety Related Courses
Certified maintenance and reliability technician (CMRT), Master certified electronics technician (CET), International maintenance instrumentation (AAMI) or equivalent.
Equipment operation certifications

Required Education and Experience Guidelines-

High School Diploma or GED
Ten (10) years’ experience as a journeyman level industrial technician
College degree or technical courses completed in maintenance or related field(desirable)

Desirable Range of Knowledge

Mechanical Knowledge -
ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install a broad range of equipment such as pumps, engines, turbines, electric motors, bearings, couplers, belts, chains, gear boxes, chemical injection systems, analyzers, samplers and more
Electrical Knowledge –
AC and DC voltage, high voltage, low voltage, motor control centers, troubleshooting sensors, switches, capacitors, motors, VFD’s, PLC’s, SCADA and more
SCADA/ PLCs -
Understanding and basic knowledge on how to use and monitor SCADA and PLC’s, HMI interfaces and controls
Plumbing Knowledge –
Mechanical plumbing, pipefitting, underground piping, using all varieties of piping materials and installation techniques, measuring, cutting, threading and more
Hydraulic Knowledge –
Hydraulic control circuits, filter, fluid maintenance, installing and repairing fittings and seals, repairing and installing hydraulic hoses and tubing, troubleshooting, repairing and installing hydraulic pumps, pulleys chains, belts, valves, sizing components and more
Pneumatic Knowledge –
Air compressors, blowers, cylinders, valves, filters, regulators and actuators, gauges, roto-meters and more
Well System Knowledge –
Pumps submersible and turbine, wells, tanks, controls, valves, sizing, tanks
Pump System Knowledge -
Working and understating centrifugal, diaphragm, piston, gear, peristaltic, lobe pumps, shafts, seals, bearing and more
Metal Fabrication –
Use of all applicable metal working tools and equipment, ability to weld (arc,mig,tig) use of acetylene and oxygen torch sets, plasma and more
Plans, P&ID, Drawings and Schematics
The ability to review, interpret and understand
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

Job Duties (Include but Are Not Limited to the Following):

· Ability to perform desired range of knowledge noted above in troubleshooting, repairing and installing equipment

· Oversee, manage &/or assist other staff members and technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance (lead role).

· Review work orders, upcoming jobs & projects and schedule to prepare for proficiency and efficiency in all projects and jobs in advance

· Work with other staff members, subs, regulators, clients and others in a professional manner, communicate and represent company in a professional manner

· Maintain accurate and detailed records

· Ability to work around heavy equipment in a safe manner

· Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted

· Ability to drive for multiple hours or long distances in a workday

· Communicate problems or concerns with supervisor, management or administrative staff

· Ability to provide and maintain a safe work practice for all staff members

· Manage deadlines; update and chase delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines and achieve compliance

· Data entry (various)

· Respond to after-hour emergencies

· Work with wastewater or sewer collection systems
