Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and supporting financial reporting activities. Your expertise will help the tax preparers assemble and prepare complex tax returns, optimize financial strategies, and maintain regulatory compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced environment focused on excellence and integrity. We are looking for a team member who is looking for an environment to learn and grow their skills yet already has experience working in a busy tax office. Fast paced and demanding. The right candidate will have flexibility and a great work ethic.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist with individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail.
Support financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory reporting tasks.
Assemble and organize taxpayer documents readying them for preparation including but not limited to summarizing bank statements, receipts, and documents.
Reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, and prepare detailed financial reports for clients or internal use.
Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to team members, clients, and shareholders to facilitate informed decision-making skills.
Extensive knowledge of tax reporting, tax compliance, and tax law with proven experience in individual and corporate taxation.
Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and technical accounting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software specifically Quick books will be mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft 360 and Office suite programs such as Word, Excel, and all email platforms will be expected. Other accounting software experience necessary.
Proficiency in Tax preparation software will be necessary. Ideally Proseries experience.
Excellent analysis skills for financial report writing and interpretation; adept at account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis.
Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients and team members. This will be in person, on the phone and via email.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations is a must.

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
