Position Summary
Design A Deck Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to join our construction team. The Carpenter will be responsible for building and installing high-quality decks, porches, outdoor structures, and related projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, works safely and efficiently, and can work independently as well as as part of a crew.
Responsibilities
- Build and install decks, porches, stairs, railings, pergolas, and other outdoor structures.
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and measurements.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fasten lumber and other building materials accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and other construction equipment safely.
- Perform framing, finish carpentry, demolition, and general construction tasks.
- Ensure finished work meets company quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, and management.
- Identify potential construction issues and communicate them to the project supervisor.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
- Properly care for company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
Qualifications
- Previous carpentry or residential construction experience preferred.
- Deck-building experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and follow measurements.
- Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver construction materials.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Construction Laborer

Position Summary
Design A Deck Inc. is looking for a hardworking and dependable Construction Laborer to join our deck construction and installation crews. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, wants to learn the construction trade, and takes pride in being part of a team that delivers high-quality projects.
The Laborer will assist Carpenters and Project Supervisors with job-site preparation, material handling, demolition, cleanup, installation, and general construction duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and crew members with deck and outdoor construction projects.
- Load, unload, carry, and organize lumber, tools, and construction materials.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling materials as directed.
- Perform demolition and removal of existing decks and structures.
- Operate basic hand and power tools after receiving proper instruction.
- Help with digging, grading, post-hole preparation, and job-site preparation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Remove debris and clean up job sites at the end of each project.
- Assist with loading and securing materials and equipment.
- Follow directions from carpenters, crew leaders, and supervisors.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
- Represent Design A Deck Inc. professionally when working at customer properties.
Qualifications
- Construction experience preferred but not required.
- Previous landscaping, remodeling, carpentry, or outdoor labor experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn carpentry and construction skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with a crew.
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license preferred, reliable transportation neccesary.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
