Description:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR point of contact for Williams, White & Company and Doerfer Field Services in Moline, IL, while supporting other Doerfer companies. This role is responsible for recruiting and sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, employee training and development, and employee engagement and retention. Additionally, the HRBP supports benefits administration, payroll, leave management, safety, compliance, and addresses employee questions related to payroll and benefits.
Essential Functions:

Serve as the on-site HR point of contact at the Moline, IL location for all HR-related questions.

Handle employee concerns, investigate issues and help resolve workplace conflicts.

Manage recruitment for Williams, White & Company, including posting, interviewing, selection, and closing of positions following HR best practices.

Collaborate with managers to understand hiring needs, develop job descriptions, and ensure competitive hiring strategies and goals are met.

Actively recruit and source candidates using a variety of methods, including job boards, social networks, and other platforms, to maintain a robust pipeline.

Screen candidates by reviewing resumes, applications, and conducting phone interviews.

Track and update interview progress and candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and internal databases.

Conduct reference checks and other pre-employment screenings as required.

Facilitate the offer process in coordination with HR, including extending offers and negotiating employment terms.

Oversee pre-employment onboarding and new hire processes, including the onboarding process.

Process, verify, and maintain personnel records, including staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, classifications, and leaves of absence, in accordance with HR policies.

Support performance management initiatives throughout the year, including the annual evaluation process.

Assist with payroll administration and ensure accurate employee data in the HRM system, including benefits enrollment, time off, and employment status updates.

Support safety programs and OSHA training to reinforce safety as a priority.

Assist with leave programs including FMLA, ADA, Work Comp, STD and LTD programs.

Provide benefits support to employees year-round, including enrollment assistance and resolving benefit-related questions or concerns.

Maintain HR records according to retention schedules, ensuring proper documentation and purging when necessary.

Support HR compliance initiatives, including policy updates and procedure reviews.

Assist with employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Coach supervisors and leadership on topics including performance management and disciplinary actions.

Maintain the union Attendance and Punctuality report.

Generate HR reports from various systems as requested.

Support HR activities for other Doerfer locations as needed.

Participate in HR development and continuing education.

Escalate issues, questions and approval items to Corporate HR and Finance when needed.

Travel as needed for corporate HR projects or events.

Actively advocate for all Doerfer Companies initiatives.

Perform additional duties or work additional hours as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of Human Resources experience.

Minimum three years of recruiting experience.

Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and payroll systems, preferably Paylocity.

Knowledge of employment law, employee relations and HR best practices.
Preferred:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Experience working with unionized employees.
