About the Role
MTLI is looking for an experienced, safety-focused Lead Foreman to oversee racking installation crews on warehouse and distribution center projects across the United States. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will manage all phases of racking installation from start to final walkthrough, perform full floor layouts and scans, maintain detailed daily safety and inventory documentation, conduct QC inspections, and ensure all project milestones and client expectations are met. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Responsibilities
∙ Lead and direct installation crews of varying sizes on commercial and industrial racking projects nationwide on behalf of MTLI
∙ Perform full floor layout and scanning prior to and during installation to verify dimensions, floor levelness, and placement accuracy before work begins
∙ Read and interpret engineering drawings, layout plans, and manufacturer installation specs; communicate instructions to crew in both English and Spanish
∙ Manage daily production schedules, crew assignments, and material usage to keep projects on time
∙ Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job-site inspections in full compliance with OSHA standards
∙ Ensure all required safety documentation is completed every day — including JHAs, toolbox talk sign-offs, incident reports, and equipment inspection logs — and reported back to the MTLI project manager
∙ Prepare detailed daily progress reports documenting work completed, crew hours, material usage, site conditions, safety incidents, delays, and any deviations from plan — to protect MTLI project managers and maintain a clear project record
∙ Photograph job-site progress daily and submit all reports to MTLI project management in a timely manner
∙ Maintain full inventory logs of all materials received, used, and remaining on site; report discrepancies to the project manager immediately
∙ Perform QC inspections at every phase of the installation to ensure work meets engineering specs, manufacturer requirements, and MTLI standards
∙ Ensure all project milestones and client (owner) expectations are met; serve as the professional face of MTLI on the job site
∙ Lead the installation from the ground up — setting layouts, plumbing and leveling uprights, installing beams, decking, row spacers, column guards, and all required hardware
∙ Coordinate with conveyor and automated system installation teams when these are part of the project scope
∙ Identify and resolve field issues quickly; communicate updates clearly to MTLI project management
∙ Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and other equipment on site
∙ Enforce PPE protocols and ensure all work meets federal, state, and local safety regulations
