Full Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new business opportunities through relationship building, networking, community engagement, and proactive sales efforts. This is an in-office and outside sales position with a majority of the workday engaging in outside sales. This is not a work-from-home position. The Business Development Representative (BDR) must be focused on increasing Corporate Events, Banquets, Trade Shows, Rentals, Fundraisers, Holiday Parties, Team-Building Experiences, and other revenue-generating Event Sales.

This individual serves as an ambassador for the company, building lasting relationships throughout the community while identifying new opportunities to grow the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

Prospect and develop new business through cold calling, business visits, networking events, referrals, and community involvement.
Build relationships with local businesses, schools, organizations, chambers of commerce, sports leagues, nonprofits, and community groups.
Identify decision-makers and create opportunities for meetings and event bookings.
Maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients and consistently develop new leads to feed the sales team.
Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, community events, and promotional opportunities.

Event Sales

Promote corporate events, team-buildings, trade shows, social events, banquets, fundraisers, holiday parties, rentals, and other unique events.
Work closely with the Event Sales team to ensure a smooth transition from lead generation to event planning and execution.

Relationship Management

Develop long-term relationships with local businesses and community leaders.
Conduct regular face-to-face visits with prospective clients.
Maintain accurate customer records and activity notes in the company’s CRM or sales tracking system.

Administrative Responsibilities

Submit weekly activity reports outlining business visits, networking events, appointments, and sales progress.
Maintain an organized sales pipeline and document all customer interactions.
Attend sales meetings and participate in ongoing training.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Previous experience in outside sales, business development, hospitality, event sales, or relationship management preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Comfortable with cold outreach and networking.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent driving and local travel.
Walking throughout business districts, offices, schools, and community events.
Ability to lift and carry marketing materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods during networking and promotional events.

TRAVEL:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will spend a significant portion of each workweek outside of the office conducting business visits, attending networking events, and meeting with prospective clients.

To support scheduling, accountability, employee safety, car allowance totals, and efficient territory management, company-issued devices and/or approved business applications may be used to record work-related location data during business hours. Location information is used solely for legitimate business purposes and in accordance with company policy.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to attend networking functions, community events, or client meetings.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
