Experienced CNC Brake Press Set-Up Operators Wanted
Spectra360 is seeking an experienced CNC Brake Press Set-Up Operator with a strong background in sheet metal fabrication.
This is a true SET-UP position — not just a machine operator role.
The ideal candidate must be able to independently set up, calibrate, and operate CNC press brake equipment, including Cincinnati, Amada, or similar CNC press brakes.
If you have hands-on experience selecting and installing tooling, adjusting machine settings, calculating bends, reading blueprints, and producing precision sheet metal parts from start to finish, we want to speak with you.
What You'll Do
- Independently set up, calibrate, and operate CNC press brakes for sheet metal production.
- Perform complete machine set-ups and changeovers.
- Select, install, and properly align dies, punches, and tooling.
- Enter and adjust machine parameters based on job specifications.
- Determine proper bend sequences, bend angles, and tooling requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Perform first-piece inspections before beginning production runs.
- Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain required tolerances.
- Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot machine set-up, tooling, bending, and quality issues.
- Monitor production to ensure consistent part quality.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
What We're Looking For
- Previous hands-on experience as a CNC Brake Press Set-Up Operator in a sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience with Cincinnati, Amada, or similar CNC press brake equipment.
- Must be able to independently set up and calibrate CNC press brake machinery.
- Strong knowledge of press brake tooling, dies, punches, bend sequencing, and machine adjustments.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of sheet metal dimensions, tolerances, and bend requirements.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform first-piece inspections and make necessary corrections.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
Sheet metal fabrication experience is strongly preferred.
Important: This position requires actual press brake set-up experience. Candidates whose experience is limited to loading material and operating an already set-up machine may not meet the requirements. We are specifically seeking operators who can set up, calibrate, select tooling, make adjustments, and troubleshoot CNC press brakes independently.
