Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-time Evening Counselor in Training (CIT) to join our dynamic counseling team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting individuals with substance use disorders. As a CIT, you will be providing compassionate care, implementing behavior management strategies, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment during evening hours (5pm-9pm). CIT certification is required.

Responsibilities:

· Provide direct care to clients and may serve as primary counselor to specified caseload under clinical supervision;

· Serve as a resource person for the other professionals and paraprofessionals in their specific area of expertise;

· Attend and participate in individual care conferences, treatment planning activities and discharge planning;

· Function as the client’s advocate in all treatment decisions affecting the client; and

· Prepare and enter progress notes in the EHR within 24 hours of service delivery;

· Ensure that clients sign all applicable documents at intake and thereafter, as needed;

· Ensure that all paperwork is completed and signed where appropriate, (i.e. assessment, treatment plan, demographic packet, etc.);

· Update treatment plans at least every 30 days, have client sign the treatment plan, and provide the client with a copy of the treatment plan;

· Maintain client charts (all required documents are present and signed by the appropriate persons); and

· Ensure that clients sign in for each session they attend.

Experience

Prior experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and individuals in recovery.
Background in addiction counseling is required.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation best practices is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with substance use disorders.
Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential for success in this role.
