Mental Health Counseling Supervisor

Full-time, exempt

$50-60,000 annually

Monroe, LA

Reports to Clinical Director of NELA

Created July 2026

Clinical coordinators are responsible for the management, supervision, and support of treatment teams, the development and maintenance of community partnerships and referral relationships, and client advocacy needs. Additionally, clinical coordinators provide support to the director and the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) in relation to program-specific decisions and direction.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, or social work
Possess status as a licensed mental health professional with appropriate state board (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW)
Approved supervisor status with the appropriate state board, preferred
High standard of personal integrity and work ethic
Ability to adjust to various types of tasks and work cooperatively with different types of personalities
Thorough understanding of The Center and its therapeutic services division and an intimate knowledge of program-specific policies and procedures
Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
Commitment to The Center’s core values and mission

Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Coordination
- Coordinate, develop, and implement administrative services, including but not limited to the referral process, community partnerships, billing processes, case advocacy, and contract services
- Review clinician notes for accuracy and completion
- Review, approve, and submit clinicians’ weekly invoices in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist appropriate director(s) and executive(s) with public relations with local and regional community partners and referral sources
- Collaborate with individual community partners and manage staff involvement and interactions with supportive agencies
- Assist director in program development and other daily duties
- Interview, hire, retain, and train staff
- Prepare and distribute assigned documentation
- Other duties as assigned

Management and Supervision of Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) Program
- Manage and implement direct client services provided in the CPST program, including but not limited to clinical case supervision of therapy team
- Maintain awareness and sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and integrate this into supervision of clinical staff and client care
- Supervise and develop therapists
- Engage in training and ongoing education for trauma-informed evidence-based models of therapy.
