Position Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Location: Southwest Region

Reports To: Special Education Program Supervisor

Salary/Benefits: Starting hourly wage $20.41, as specified in the MEA-ESPA Agreement

wage schedule; single medical, dental and vision benefits according to

Master Agreement with the ESPA

Available: August 13, 2025; Full-time, school year position

Schedule: 7.5 Hours with 30-minute duty-free lunch; start and end times dependent
on daily assignment.

Work schedule based on district calendar.

Probation Period: Ninety (90) working day probationary period.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Closing Date: June 3, 2025, for internal candidates

Job Summary:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or

Essential Duties:

Assist with implementation of behavioral interventions to support student

access to educational environments.

Support implementation of behavior intervention plans.

Support implementation of positive behavior support plans.

Assist with classroom management and respond to undesirable

behaviors by replacing them with desired behaviors.

Maximize student access to the curriculum and create student independence.

Work 1:1 with a student or a floating position to support numerous students.

Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.

Build and maintain the positive school and classroom culture held within

this school district.

Support students in a variety of settings such as the community, job sites,

field trips, and recreation.

Calmly respond to unexpected behaviors independently and appropriately.

Perform duties necessary to support students who need assistance with

daily life/health related activities as assigned by the teacher, supervisor, or

BCBA.

Communicate proactively and timely with the BCBA, teacher, and parent/guardian.

Maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to students and programs.

Must have valid driver's license and reliable, daily transportation.

Transport students on occasion using district vehicle.

Maintain regular, predictable in-person attendance.

Follow work rules.

Adhere to MCISD Board policies and guidelines, including Behavior Analyst

Certification Board (BCBA) guidelines.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, waist high (lifting test required).

Carry out all other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent, required. Associate degree, preferred.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, required.

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge and experience in Applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment

methodologies.

Prior experience working with special needs children.

SKILLS/OTHER:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in

written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to work with severely disabled children.

Ability to interact with staff and public required.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Ability to perform all duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of

Education policies.

equipment and wheelchairs. The employee will assist in physical management of

students.
