Full Job Description

A rapidly scaling, venture-backed CleanTech manufacturer is seeking an Accounting Manager to take ownership of core accounting operations and help build a scalable finance function.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role in a fast-growth environment, offering strong visibility to leadership and clear progression as the business moves toward profitability and future funding milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Close & Reporting

Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
Establish and manage close calendars and deadlines

Balance Sheet & Reconciliations

Maintain full ownership of balance sheet integrity
Prepare and review reconciliations (cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets)
Investigate and resolve discrepancies

General Accounting

Prepare and review journal entries
Ensure compliance with GAAP
Improve accounting treatment across key areas

Audit & Compliance

Act as primary contact for external auditors
Coordinate audit deliverables and support fieldwork
Strengthen internal controls

Process & Systems

Drive process improvements and automation
Support ERP optimization (SAP preferred)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with FP&A and operations teams
Align corporate and plant accounting activities

Candidate Profile

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong ownership of month-end close
Solid understanding of GAAP
ERP system experience

Preferred

SAP experience
Inventory or manufacturing accounting exposure

Ideal Candidate

Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive
Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong problem solver with an ownership mindset
Able to balance execution with continuous improvement

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
