Full Job Description

Job Summary

Ellis Reid Millwork & Specialties is seeking a skilled Microvellum Drafter / Specialist to join our growing team of custom cabinetry and architectural millwork professionals. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience using Microvellum in a cabinet or millwork manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating production-ready shop drawings, engineering custom projects, supporting CNC manufacturing processes, and collaborating closely with drafting, engineering, and production teams to ensure projects move efficiently from design through manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain detailed shop drawings using Microvellum.
Engineer custom cabinetry and architectural millwork projects for production.
Generate manufacturing and CNC-ready files.
Review architectural plans and specifications.
Develop bills of materials and production documentation.
Coordinate with project managers, designers, drafters, and production personnel.
Troubleshoot design, engineering, and production-related issues.
Assist with maintaining and improving Microvellum libraries, standards, and processes.
Ensure projects meet quality, accuracy, and production requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.

QualificationsRequired

Experience using Microvellum in a cabinet, millwork, or woodworking manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Preferred

Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or related CAD software.
Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
Experience generating CNC programs and production data.
Experience with custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, commercial casework, or woodworking manufacturing.
Understanding of production workflows and materials management.
