Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are a small independent family practice clinic in Eugene seeking a medical assistant to join our friendly and talented team. We are currently hiring for a full-time or part-time position.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist with procedures, phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
Support patient care activities including patient education on medication use, physiology, anatomy, and disease management.
Manage medical records accurately, including ICD coding, medical documentation, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
Perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection, administering injections, and assisting with inpatient and outpatient procedures across various specialties like internal medicine and geriatrics.
Coordinate with hospital teams for inpatient experiences or trauma center procedures, ensuring seamless communication and documentation.
Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

Proven experience in medical office management with strong knowledge of medical terminology and records management.
Hands-on experience in dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care settings; familiarity with Level I/II trauma center protocols is a plus.
Competency in EMR/EHR systems including electronic health records management and ICD coding.
Skilled in phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and patient service delivery.
Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to outpatient and inpatient care environments.
Ability to perform EKG, Spirometry and PFT procedures.
Excellent communication skills to support patient intake processes and foster compassionate patient care across diverse populations.
