Full Job Description

Employees on 2nd Shift receive a 15% pay differential.

IDD Aerospace - Safran Electronics & Defense (SED)

IDD Aerospace, a Safran Company designs and manufactures flight deck control panels, integrated switch panels and lighted panels for the flight deck. IDD is the world leader in high volume high mix lighted panels, and we are a major player in the supply of control panels, integrated switch panels, keyboards and Cursor Control devices.

Position Description

Sets up and operates basic shop tools and equipment such as drill press, manual milling machine surface grinder, Tool room lathe and CNC machinery, producing machine parts within acceptable quality and job time standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Sets up and operates CNC milling machine. Draws necessary tooling and/or fixtures for machine panels, sets up and runs 4th axis on CNC. Follows written or verbal set up instructions.
Meets quality and job time standards. ·
May also perform secondary operations such as edge breaking, hand deburring, installation, and various hand operations. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES· Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
Continuously improves products and processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.·
Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.
Accurately completes all related paperwork and scanning functions.

Education / Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years previous machine shop experience in operating drill press, table saw, sanders, sonic welder and CNC milling machines, manual mill and lathe.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENT

Must demonstrate excellent hand/eye coordination.
Must have excellent shop math, blue printing reading skills and knowledge in proper feeds and speeds using various materials.
Ability to read and understand routings and PB’s in English.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to dust, dirt and noise. Eye protection must be always worn. Certain activities require dust mask and hearing protection.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Operator will spend 30% to 50% of time standing.
Ability to lift 30 lbs with assistance.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Direct but supervised impact on sales, costs or assets. Work is done under supervision, but advice is not always readily available.

OTHER

This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
