We’re looking for a highly motivated, creative, and organized professional to join our leadership team as our Communications, Marketing & Administrative Manager.

The Opportunity
As a key member of our year-round leadership team, you will work closely with the General Manager, Guest Experience Manager, and all departments to support marketing, communications, administration, employee engagement, and special projects throughout the organization.
Because Ski Big Bear is a small business, leadership is not siloed. We work collaboratively, support one another, and do whatever is needed to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.
This role offers exposure to virtually every aspect of ski area operations and is ideal for someone seeking a long-term career path within the ski and outdoor recreation industry.
Primary ResponsibilitiesMarketing, Content & Brand Development
· Manage and execute year-round marketing initiatives
· Develop content for social media, email marketing, digital advertising, and website communications
· Maintain and update Ski Big Bear’s website and email marketing platforms
· Create graphic design, photography, and video content that showcases the Ski Big Bear experience
· Help tell authentic stories that inspire participation in skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor recreation
· Track campaign performance and recommend improvements
· Assist in developing seasonal marketing strategies and promotional campaigns
· Coordinate with outside vendors, media partners, and community organizations as needed
Guest & Community Communications
· Develop guest-facing communications and informational materials to support sales
· Support communication during operational changes, weather events, promotions, and special events
· Strengthen Ski Big Bear’s presence within the local community
· Represent the ski area at public events, community functions, schools, tourism initiatives, and industry gatherings
· Serve as an ambassador for the Ski Big Bear brand and culture
· Build relationships that support community engagement and participation in winter recreation
Administrative Leadership Support
· Provide administrative support to the General Manager and leadership team
· Assist with project coordination, reporting, documentation, and record management
· Develop and maintain policies, procedures, forms, and operational materials
· Coordinate timelines, meetings, and organizational projects
· Support data entry, reporting, and information management
· Assist with special projects that improve organizational effectiveness and guest experience
Employee Communication & Development
· Assist with recruitment and seasonal hiring initiatives
· Support onboarding and employee orientation programs
· Create training materials and communication resources
· Help maintain employee handbooks, guides, and training documentation
· Promote a positive culture of communication and teamwork
· Assist with employee recognition, engagement, and internal communication efforts
Event Planning & Special Projects
· Assist in planning and executing guest, employee, and community events
· Coordinate logistics and communications for special programs
· Support strategic initiatives and organizational improvement projects
· Collaborate with staff across all departments to ensure successful execution
· Participate as a team member during major operational events and peak-season activities
Leadership Development
· Participate in operational planning and leadership discussions
· Gain exposure to multiple areas of ski area management
· Potentially supervise content creators, interns, volunteers, and project-based team members
· Develop skills that prepare you for future leadership opportunities within the ski industry

Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Experience creating content for social media, websites, email marketing, and digital communications
· Graphic design, photography, and video production skills
· Strong technology skills and the ability to learn new platforms quickly
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

· Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
· Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Experience with website management, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, graphic design software, photography, video editing, and content creation tools is preferred.
Skiing or snowboarding experience is a plus, but not required. A passion for outdoor recreation, guest service, and learning is far more important.
Work Environment
Working at a ski area is rewarding, exciting, and demanding.
Winter operations include weekends, holidays, evenings, and busy peak periods. During the ski season, all team members contribute to the success of the operation and work collaboratively across departments when needed.
This is not a desk job hidden behind an office door. It is a leadership role that requires engagement with guests, employees, community partners, and the daily energy of a working ski area.
