Contents Lead Technician: Restoration & Contents Cleaning
Five Valleys Restoration & Cleaning | Missoula, MT Full-Time | $22.00 – $25.00/hour DOE + Quarterly Bonus | Paid IICRC Certification
Get paid to learn a trade most people have never heard of
When a fire, flood, or storm hits a Montana home, the structure is only half the story. The other half is everything inside it — the wedding photos, the grandfather clock, the tools, the kid's stuffed animal. That's contents restoration, and it's what our team does.
We're a Montana-owned company serving Missoula and all of Western Montana, and we're hiring a Contents Lead Technician to run pack-outs, lead crews, and restore personal property in our facility.
No restoration experience required. If you're dependable, good with people, and willing to learn, we'll train and certify you. We've built our whole crew this way.
What you'll actually do
On site (roughly half your time):
- Walk a damaged home or business with the customer, evaluate what can be saved, and photograph and inventory it in our computerized tracking system
- Lead a 2–4 person crew through pack-outs — box packing, furniture, appliances, specialty items like pianos, pool tables, and aquariums
- Protect floors and access paths, load out safely, and get everything back to the facility intact
- Return contents to the customer when the job is done — often the best day of a very hard month for them
In our facility (the other half):
- Restore contents using the right method for the item: ultrasonic, Esporta soft-contents washing, dry cleaning, laundry, hand detailing, upholstery wet and dry cleaning, metals, hard goods, and deodorization chamber work
- Keep documentation clean and protocols followed — IICRC standards, PPE, and customer-facing quality checks
- Load, unload, stage, and move contents through processing rooms and vault storage
As a lead:
- Set the pace and standard for your crew on procedures, timelines, and safety
- Answer customer questions and walk them through scope of work
- Take after-hours emergency calls on a shared rotation (typically about one week in four)
A real path forward, not a vague promise
We track skills and certifications for every technician across four tracks. Every one you add is a step toward more responsibility and more money:
Track what you can get trained and certified in Clean IICRC CPT (carpet & rug), UFT (upholstery), OCT & FSRT (odor and fire/smoke), Esporta soft-contents, ultrasonic stations 1–4, electronics and electrical cleaning, delicates, metals, furniture Pack Inventory software, truck and box packing, appliance moving, floor protection, specialty items Warehouse Forklift, vault building, equipment and supply inventory, furniture repair, fleet Manager OSHA 10, HST safety tech, quality inspection, project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, documentation
Leads who build out the Manager column are the people we promote. Training is paid, on the clock, and we cover certification costs.
