Full Job Description

The successful candidate for our Optician- Frame and Lens Specialist position should possess a pleasant personality, positive attitude, great attention to detail, work well under pressure and love to provide outstanding customer service! We care about people.

Heights Eyecare is seeking a friendly, reliable team member to join our busy 6 doctor practice as an Optician. This is a great job for an energetic and qualified individual who would like to make a positive difference in people’s lives by helping with their most valued sense, sight!

Availability: Monday - Friday 8:30a – 5:30p
Job Type: Full Time
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)

What you will do:

Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs
Prepare work orders and instructions for lenses and eyeglasses.
Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.
Verify that finished lenses are made to specifications.
Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands.
Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with clients' vocational and avocational visual requirements.
Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.
Instruct clients in how to wear and care for eyeglasses.
Other duties as assigned.

What will set you apart:

6+ months of working as an Optician or in the optical field
ABO Certification (preferred)
Experience in a busy, complex office environment (strongly preferred)
Experience in a healthcare environment (preferred)
Demonstrate knowledge of benefits and services including eligibility requirements
Demonstrated ability to show sustained success in a job over time
Demonstrated ability to build on a strong foundation for long-term growth
