Job Overview

We are looking for a licensed Paramedic to be a part of team of paid paramedic, EMT's and volunteer EMT's attending to out-of-hospital medical incidents in a rural setting. Powder River EMS is currently a ALS County owned ambulance service that is seeking someone with excellent people and leadership skills. We are looking for someone willing to help train and promote existing staff to provide more advance emergency care to our rural county. The ambulance service is based in Broadus, MT which is in the heart of Powder River County. The closest emergency care facility is 80 miles away, which amplifies the importance of moving to a more advanced service and we need your help. Powder River County has invested in great Ambulances and Equipment that will be ready to use. Broadus is located in Rural Southeastern Montana and offers a lot when it comes to a Frontier community. The Community offers an Excellent School System, Safe neighborhoods, making it an excellent location to raise a family. World class hunting and outdoor recreation, other recreational opportunities include a seasonal swimming pool, golf course, bowling alley, rodeo arena, parks and walking trails and a bowling alley. Local Amenities include grocery Store/pharmacy, restaurant, family medical clinic, nursing home, hardware stores, clothing Stores etc.Duties

Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention at the scene and during transport
Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and trauma evaluations
Manage airways, administer medications, injections, and intravenous fluids following established protocols
Operate advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and monitors with precision
Execute trauma care procedures at Level I and Level II trauma centers, including neonatal resuscitation and pediatric emergency interventions
Maintain clear documentation of patient assessments, treatments administered, and incident reports
Coordinate with incident command teams and communicate effectively with hospitals and emergency responders to ensure seamless patient handoffs

Skills

Extensive critical care experience with a strong background in trauma medicine and emergency response procedures
Proven hospital experience across emergency rooms or intensive care units, demonstrating proficiency in urgent patient care
Skilled in triage protocols to prioritize patient treatment based on severity of injuries or conditions
Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
Proficiency in airway management techniques including intubation and ventilation support
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques for safe procedures
Ability to perform venipuncture, medication administration, physical examinations, and vital signs assessment accurately
Strong understanding of incident command systems for effective crisis management during emergencies
Competence in operating various medical devices and equipment essential for critical care transport
Familiarity with neonatal resuscitation procedures and pediatric emergency care protocols
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and driving under urgent conditions while maintaining safety standards
Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication to reassure patients during stressful situations
