Full Job Description

We are a New York City-based Certified B Corporation law firm focused on representing nonprofit and for-profit real estate developers, investors, and public finance agencies in complex affordable housing and community development matters.

We are seeking an attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join our growing Landlord/Tenant and Real Estate Litigation practice on a part-time basis, approximately 20–25 hours per week. This position will have a particular focus on court appearances and litigation support, and candidates must be available to appear in New York courts as needed. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York and should have experience handling litigation matters in New York Civil and State Courts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in landlord/tenant and real estate litigation, with exposure to matters involving limited-equity cooperatives, construction license agreements, and RPAPL § 881 proceedings. The attorney will have the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility and work closely with experienced attorneys across a range of litigation and transactional matters.

Candidates should have strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage matters effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. An interest in client development and building relationships within the affordable housing and community development space is also valued.

Experience preparing and submitting petitions to the New York State Attorney General’s Office Charities Bureau and the New York State Supreme Court for approval of real estate and corporate transactions, including mergers and dissolutions, is highly preferred but not required.

New York Bar admission is required. Admission in New Jersey or another jurisdiction is a plus.
