Monterey Regional Airport, CaliforniaAssistant ControllerTo view the brochure for this position, please click the following link: Assistant Controller Job BrochureApplication Deadline: Open Until FilledFirst Review of Applications: March 23, 2026The Assistant Controller is a key member of the finance team and serves as a critical partner to the Controller in managing the District’s financial integrity and operational accountability. This position performs high-level accounting, financial reporting, budget development, forecasting, and analytical work essential to District decision-making. Responsibilities include month-end closing, general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, treasury transactions, capital project draw coordination, and preparation of internal financial statements and discussion/analysis reports. The Assistant Controller maintains complex financial models, compiles statistical and operational data, supports annual audits, and acts as a liaison to District departments during the budget process.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical accounting skills, advanced Excel modeling capability, and a solid understanding of GAAP and GASB standards. This individual will work independently and collaboratively, respond to financial inquiries from internal and external partners, support grants and capital project accounting, and prepare professional, data-driven reports for management and the Board.
