Overview

Join our dynamic educational team as a Teacher/Assistant, where your passion for fostering growth and learning will inspire children with diverse needs. In this role, you will support classroom activities, implement individualized education plans, and create a nurturing environment that promotes development across cognitive, social, and emotional domains. Whether working with preschoolers, toddlers, or students with special education needs, your dedication will help shape confident learners ready to succeed. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills in early childhood and special education.

Responsibilities

Assist in delivering engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards such as literacy, math, and social skills.
Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs.
Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and classroom management techniques.
Use communication skills, including American Sign Language when appropriate, to facilitate understanding and interaction with students with diverse communication styles.
Participate in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to early childhood education principles like Montessori or preschool methodologies.
Provide care and supervision for children, including toddler care and preschool activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to monitor progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet each student’s unique needs.

Requirements

Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or private school environments.
Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices related to early childhood education.
Familiarity with special education practices, including working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or other disabilities.
Understanding of classroom experience requirements such as behavior management, lesson planning, and curriculum development.
Proficiency in communication skills necessary for working effectively with students, families, and team members.
Certification or training in Deaf education or American Sign Language is a plus.
Ability to manage a classroom effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment.
