POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs general clerical duties that may include, but are not limited to: data entry/retrieval; typing; filing; scheduling; reception desk; mail processing; payment window; court check-in. Duties include some contact with the public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes/processes office mail.
Performs routine filing and file maintenance duties as needed.
Scans all necessary paperwork in working and original files.
Receives/processes support payments and provides receipts to customers accurately, if assigned.
Receives/processes requests for information from authorized subsidized housing agencies.
Prepares forms, letters and other key department documents.
May schedule support cases for conferences or court hearings; prepare conference/court lists; organize court files; perform post-hearing routine duties as instructed or assigned.
May check clients in for support hearings/conferences/meetings, paternity testing appointments, etc.
May docket support case information.
May be assigned to assist a team or unit with routine clerical duties, special projects, data entry/retrieval, etc., as needed, but at a lower level of responsibility than the clerical casework performed routinely by the higher Support Caseworker/Specialist positions within said team or unit.
Makes routine telephone calls as assigned.
Orders and maintains office supplies.
Follows State, County and Department security requirements, policies and procedures; understands and adheres to security plans, emergency procedures, and confidentiality policies; helps to provide a safe and secure environment for self, co-workers, and clients; takes measures to secure data and client information; keeps updated on all safeguards and security programs.
Ability to work in a high volume, often stressful office work environment.
Ability to exercise good judgement, courtesy and tact when in contact with the public and clients, who may be under a high degree of stress.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Will be assigned as a trainer as needed.
Learn and use the Pennsylvania Automated Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) and all related applications including the County computer system.
Ability to maintain statistics.
Ability to understand the Federal Performance Measures.
Ability to work off-site, if required.
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, with computer keyboarding skill of 35 wpm.
Work experience in a business, legal or court environment preferred.
