Southern Design is searching for a person of high moral character to represent its interest, maintain and service its current customer base and to increase its market share in this important geographical area. This individual should have either experience in selling, servicing, or problem solving pump applications or have a B.S. degree preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering. Southern Design is interested in an individual that has a strong interest in industrial sales with fluid systems knowledge, and process experience with pumps, valves, and related equipment. The position is performed remotely, with frequent in-state travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and understand existing and unmet needs for current and potential customers and translate these needs to sales opportunities.
- Handle engineering projects from initial stages to completion.
- Coordinate all sales and account management activities at assigned accounts, including field sales contacts, identification of sales potential, application targeting, proposal generation and proposal coordination and follow-up.
- Supporting customer relations with inside sales, including researching opportunities, generating quotes and processing orders.
- Various other duties as assigned to further successful sales.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Self-starter with a positive attitude is a must; should be energetic with a strong work ethic
- Solid mechanical or chemical background; industrial sales and/or reliability engineering a plus
- Successful candidate must live in the Arkansas Area
- Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with formal presentations
