About Malark

Since 1994 Malark Companies has been providing true third-party logistics (3PL), specializing in on-time and on-budget domestic and international freight logistics, serving regulated and independent power producers, heavy manufacturing, light assembly, packaging, and distribution enterprises. We handle all domestic and international supply chain functions, from managing and moving freight, inventory, warehousing, claims processing and reporting, to packing, crating, blanket wrapping, vendor compliance, small package shipping, tracking, and more.

Summary

Identifying local, regional, and national accounts in power generation/utilities/industrial verticals to establish new relationships for 3PL services, focusing on Specialty/Critical/Oversized transportation locally, nationally, and world-wide. Account Executives are heavily involved with building and maintaining relationships with existing customers / clients. The goal is to maximize the value of these relationships and to ensure that customers remain loyal to the company over time. This involves understanding the needs and goals of each customer and developing customized strategies to meet their needs, as well as providing ongoing support and guidance. The role requires experience with B2B prospecting via phone and in-person.

Essential Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities

Account management.
Embrace new business opportunities with quick response and follow-up’s
Research and contact prospective customers to demonstrate services, explain service features, and negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements, with the goal of establishing long-term revenue generating relationships.
Understand all the components that make up our cost per order and reduce expenses in the areas under your control.
Be actively involved in review of processes and procedures, updating as needed and ensuring complete compliance with the overall goal of improving efficiencies and reducing expenses.
Ensure customer expedited and weekend orders are traced so that there are no surprises with late shipments.
Communicate with the customer any status changes. Finding leads through market analysis; cold calling, emailing, in person visits, mail in company information; provide requested quotes and information; follow-up with potential clients to close on sales contracts.
Develop plans to keep up to date on current industry and client trends, as well as staying informed of up-to-date rates in the industry.
Effectively plan and manage customer contacts.
Clearly communicate customer updates internally keeping key stakeholders informed.
Effectively report sales activity.
Flexibility to travel occasionally to client meetings or industry events.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

3 years’ experience in the Logistics or Transportation Industry.
Proven experience in logistics sales or account management, preferably in a B2B environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools
