The company was founded by a group of experienced medical billers who saw a need for a billing company that could provide exceptional service to healthcare providers of all sizes. Over the years, Certified Healthcare Billing Services has grown steadily, building a reputation for its expertise, efficiency, and dedication to its clients. CHB is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill the role and join our esteemed team.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately billing patients and third-party payers, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely payment for services rendered. The candidate will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues, outstanding claims, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. If you possess expertise in medical collections, have a knack for resolving outstanding accounts, and are dedicated to ensuring financial integrity in healthcare, we want to hear from you! The individual applying for this position must have knowledge of how to appeal and dispute denied claims. Must have experience in AR collection and overall knowledge in medical billing. Responsibilities:

Review medical bills, records, and documentation for accuracy and ensure proper coding, billing, and filing with insurance companies and government agencies
Generate and submit claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers
Ensure claims are received, processed, and paid within insurance company time frames
Collaborate with billing and coding teams to address coding errors and resubmit claims as needed
Review, analyze and manage aged accounts receivable reports to identify overdue balances
Utilize in-depth knowledge of medical billing codes, insurance policies, and regulations to resolve billing discrepancies and appeal denied claims as needed; contact insurance companies and third-party payers to follow up on unpaid claims and denials
Communicate professionally with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to address collection issues
Contact patients to discuss outstanding balances, explain billing statements, and assist with payment arrangements
Analyze and interpret explanation of benefits (EOB) and remittance advice for accurate account reconciliation
Stay up-to-date on healthcare billing regulations and guidelines
Process payments from insurance companies and patients
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Requirements (Experience):

Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical collections or revenue cycle management
Strong understanding of medical terminology, DRG’s CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding; certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, billing processes, and documentation
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in account reconciliation
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently; also, collaboratively within a team when needed.
Previous experience in a certified healthcare billing role or medical office preferred
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to adapt to change
