Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Light Assembler I to join the Pass and Seymour Team in Concord, NC. The Light Assembler assembles or packages various materials/components by hand or with support of minor machinery and hand tools.
What Will You Do?
-
Start and stop machine, packaging/assembly quality products.
-
Working Procedure:
-
Have knowledge of safety devices and operating procedures.
-
Obtain proper product materials per Bill of Materials.
-
Ensure that equipment will be operated in a safe manner.
-
Check parts to ensure consistent quality and low scrap.
-
Attain production rate for assigned work center. Document methodology and reason on plan to actual form when production target is not achieved.
-
Keep records on quality audits, production, scrap, and downtime.
-
May be responsible for routine preventative maintenance, minor setup and changeover of workstation.
-
Maintain good housekeeping, keeping machinery and work area clean and safe.
-
Assist other team members with work, rework and final production.
-
Follow step by step standard work procedue to ensure final part/product meets all quality standards.

Must be willing and able to operate on multiple work areas per production schedule.

All other related duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Education:
-
High school degree or GED preferred.
Experience:
-
Minimum three months of manufacturing experience
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
-
Basic reading and writing skills in English.
-
Math skills
-
Basic computer skills preferred.
-
Good communications and interpersonal skills
-
Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
-
Able to stand the majority of the workday.
-
Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
-
Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating tools and machines.

Ability and applied knowledge of the production worker job description.
