POSITION OVERVIEW
Elisyd Design is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Draftsman to support our growing project workload. The ideal candidate will be able to take measurements, sketches, client requests, design concepts, and existing plans and convert them into accurate, professional construction drawings.
This is a project-based independent contractor position. The draftsman will collaborate with Elisyd Design’s leadership, designers, architects, and engineers to complete residential and commercial projects according to established deadlines and project requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare accurate 2D architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and construction details
- Convert sketches, measurements, existing plans, and design concepts into professional digital drawings
- Create drawings for new construction, renovations, additions, interior buildouts, and commercial spaces
- Revise drawings based on client feedback and direction from Elisyd Design
- Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure drawings are ready for professional review and stamping when required
- Verify dimensions, measurements, annotations, and drawing consistency before submission
- Follow applicable building codes, drafting standards, and project requirements
- Meet agreed-upon project deadlines and communicate promptly regarding questions, revisions, or potential delays
- Maintain confidentiality regarding Elisyd Design’s clients, projects, pricing, processes, and intellectual property
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous professional drafting experience in residential, commercial, or architectural design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or comparable drafting software
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, construction documents, dimensions, and building terminology
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Reliable access to the equipment and software necessary to complete assigned projects
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant drafting experience are required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience preparing permit-ready residential and commercial drawing sets
- Familiarity with local building codes and permitting requirements
- Experience collaborating with licensed architects and engineers
- Experience producing 3D models or photorealistic renderings
- Degree, certificate, or formal training in drafting, architecture, engineering technology, or a related field
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be determined based on experience, project scope, complexity, and required turnaround time.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
