RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Paint Production Operator in our Morehead, KY location! This posting is for 2nd Shift. The hours could be 12 PM- 8 PM or 3 PM- 11 PM.
Your Job
The Paint Production Operator is responsible for supporting paint production processes by safely loading paint racks, unloading paint racks, and performing visual inspection of parts to ensure they meet RESRG Automotive quality standards, customer requirements, and production expectations. This role supports daily operations by following work instructions, maintaining efficient workflow, identifying defects, and keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, team-focused, and committed to producing high-quality painted parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What you Will do in Your Role
- Load parts onto paint racks safely, accurately, and according to standardized work instructions and production requirements.
- Unload painted parts from racks while preventing damage, contamination, scratches, or handling defects.
- Perform visual inspection of painted parts for defects such as dirt, runs, scratches, chips, color concerns, coverage issues, or other quality defects.
- Follow standardized work instructions, visual aids, quality alerts, control plans, paint area procedures, and supervisor direction.
- Separate, tag, report, and contain non-conforming parts according to RESRG Automotive quality procedures.
- Maintain proper part identification, sequencing, and handling to prevent mixed, damaged, or incorrect parts.
- Complete required production paperwork, quality checks, labels, part counts, scrap records, rework information, or electronic transactions accurately and on time.
- Monitor paint racks, parts, containers, packaging, and supplies; notify the Team Lead or Supervisor when replenishment or support is needed.
- Keep the work area clean and organized by following 5S, housekeeping, waste disposal, and safety expectations.
- Participate in safety huddles, shift meetings, training, continuous improvement activities, and problem-solving discussions.
- Communicate effectively with team members, material handlers, quality technicians, maintenance, Team Leads, and Supervisors to support production flow.
- Support production needs by working in other departments or areas of the plant as assigned based on business, staffing, or operational requirements.
- Follow all RESRG Automotive safety policies, PPE requirements, attendance expectations, quality standards and company rules.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, paint line, inspection, or warehouse experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, safety rules, quality standards, and production procedures.
- Basic math skills and the ability to complete simple production or quality documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, quality concerns, or process issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with team members, leads, and supervisors.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime, or schedule changes based on production needs.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position require the ability to:
- Frequently: Stand and walk for extended periods; step over conveyors as required by the work area; use hands and fingers for handling, gripping, loading, unloading, sorting, and inspecting parts; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear in a production environment.
- Occasionally: Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, climb, balance, push, pull, or sit based on work assignment.
- Vision: Possess close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus to inspect parts and identify defects.
- Lifting: Lift, carry, push, or pull materials, containers, or parts up to 10-50 pounds as required by the assignment.
