MACHINING LINE BORING WELDING HEAVY MINING EQUIPMENT
Put your machining & mechanical maintenance skills to work at a large-scale open-pit copper mining operation in Morenci, Arizona.
We're looking for an experienced Machinist with hands-on experience in machining, line boring, welding, cutting, mechanical troubleshooting & equipment repair. You'll support Mechanical Field Services, perform routine maintenance, operate machine shop equipment & help keep heavy mining equipment operating safely.
What You’ll Do
- Perform routine maintenance, mechanical maintenance & equipment repair
- Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, band saws & drill presses
- Perform lathe operation, milling machine operation & horizontal milling
- Perform line boring, welding & cutting
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues & develop solutions to maintenance problems
- Complete work orders & maintenance documentation
- Follow established maintenance procedures & safety procedures
- Train & mentor maintenance employees
- Provide employee training & maintenance mentoring as needed
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience as a Machinist, Line Borer, Welder, Boilermaker or related mechanical trade
- Strong mechanical aptitude & hands-on mechanical maintenance skills
- Proficiency in welding & cutting
- Experience with machine shop equipment including:
- 11", 20", 24" & 32" lathes
- Milling machines
- Horizontal milling machines
- Marvel band saws
- Drill presses
- Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting & equipment repair
- Ability to understand & follow written/verbal work & safety instructions in English
- Ability to communicate effectively regarding job assignments, maintenance procedures & safety requirements
Preferred Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working on Komatsu 4100XPA, 4100XPB/C & 4100 XPC/AC electric shovels
- Experience working on Epiroc PV271 & PV271XC diesel drills
- Experience with heavy mining equipment
Pay & Benefits
$29.00-$39.00/hour
