SUMMARY OF POSITION
Overview: Moldmaker Toolmaker CNC Programmer :This position’s main responsibility is to manufacture Steel and Aluminum molds for the Rubber Industry. We are not a molder so we produce a high volume of molds per week. Our design department will create CAD models of the molds, but manufacturability collaboration is expected from the Programmer. Typically programmers willhave multiple projects they are managing at once. Please bring your experience and improve the process. There are 4 programming positions here, so working as a team is essential. Your specialties in various intricacies of Machining are valued. We are fast paced but have a reputation for quality in our tooling. Candidate will need to be able to setup CNC machines and lift mold material into machines up to 50 lbs on occasion. Preference of this position is to be mainly programming for an operator, when available who will work hands on the machines.

Actual Job Duties –Essential Functions
Responsibilities Include:
- Requires MASTERCAM 2021 Software programming 5+ years experience in Milling 3D surfaces, 3 axis milling, in a fast paced environment, and on multiple projects
- Requires experience with 3D multisurface toolpaths and 3D surface contouring
- Requires Mold Cavity or similar machining experience
- Requires previous cnc mill operating and setup experience 5 years
- 5 axis experience a plus
- CNC Lathe Programming and Setup is a plus
- Detailed knowledge of Molds and Tooling
- Ability to create programs using tool changes and run lights out
- Ability to setup and operate CNC machine if needed
- Team Oriented- Ability to work with CNC Operators or setup and run your own programs based on workflow/project timelines
- Creates instructions for Setup Operators.
- Reviews 3D CAD design mold models and replies to designer with improvements for manufacture
- Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests.
- Chooses cutting tools that will be needed, advises for improvements
- Analyzes job order and performs job based on schedule and efficiency.
- Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.
- Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.
- Makes improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes.
- Simplifies tooling time and increases productivity for machine operators.
- Evaluates all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they are to company specs.
- Monitors all programs to make sure they follow print instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Inspects finalized production pieces to check dimensions and quality to ensure the quality of order prior to being shipped to customer.
- Represent company with professionalism and integrity.
- Teach and help other team members as needed.
- “Can do” attitude and enthusiasm to other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
- Continuing education to learn new techniques as they emerge.

- Ability to Program for 1 to 2 operators

- High sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced team environment anticipating and adjusting to challenges.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Time is spent in a climate controlled office environment on-site only.
- Time is spent in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulating a mouse.
- Must be able to do shift work.
- Must have hand and wrist coordination for data entry input. Must be able to work with hands and arms to handle or feel objects.
- Must have good close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to communicate with co-workers.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more when needed.
- Must be able to work standing when needed.
- Must be on-time for a 6am-2:30pm work shift M-F, with some overtime (generally to 3:30pm)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
