Full Job Description

TENCO SOLAR is hiring a Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Operations and Maintenance Division. This role is responsible for maximizing PV system performance, managing warranty claims, and leading a team of field technicians. The ideal candidate balances strong technical knowledge of commercial solar assets with excellent client communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Service Operations & Scheduling
Dispatch Team: Coordinate and schedule field technicians for preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance.
Monitor Assets: Oversee the performance of the commercial solar portfolio using monitoring platforms.
Troubleshoot Issues: Lead the diagnostic process for complex commercial solar and battery energy storage system faults.

Leadership & Team Management

Supervise Technicians: Manage, mentor, ensure processes are adhered to, and evaluate a team of commercial solar field technicians.
Scheduling & Dispatching: Schedule and Assign repair, maintenance, and warranty jobs.
Enforce Safety: Champion a strict safety culture, ensuring all work complies with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards.
Train Staff: Identify skill gaps and provide continuous training on new inverter technology, battery storage, and safety protocols.

Client Relations & Contract Management

Manage O&M Contracts: Negotiate O&M contracts and ensure all contract deliverables are met on time.
Customer Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for commercial clients regarding system outages, repairs, and billing questions; Handle escalated client issues; build long-term account relationships.
Reporting: Prepare and deliver clear, technical performance reports and maintenance summaries to asset owners.

Financial & Vendor Management

Warranty Claims: Manage end-to-end warranty claims with major solar manufacturers and Solar Insure for inverters, modules, and trackers.
Budget Oversight: Track division expenses, approve parts procurement, and manage labor hours to ensure profitability.
Quoting: Estimate labor and material costs to generate proposals for out-of-warranty corrective work.

Qualifications & Skills

3–5+ years of experience in commercial solar installation, O&M, or electrical service management.
High School Diploma required; Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
NABCEP PV Installation Professional or O&M certification highly preferred. OSHA 10 or 30 required.
Excellent computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software quickly, including proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Teams, Procore, and Service Fusion
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills 
High degree of attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively, and excellent organization skills
Self-starter, motivated, and proactive with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

Salary: $100,000-115,000 , includes base salary plus variable compensation plan
