Full Job Description

Construction Accounting & Compliance Specialist

Magellan Construction is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bilingual Construction Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position will support our day-to-day accounting, payroll, compliance, and administrative operations.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, takes initiative, and understands the administrative requirements of a construction company. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Review employee timecards, identify discrepancies, and follow up with employees or supervisors as needed before payroll is processed.
Assist with weekly union payroll, including Certified Payroll and W-2 processing.
Perform general bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
Assist with employee onboarding, union dispatch requests, and maintaining personnel records.
Manage DIR compliance and maintain project documentation through LCP Tracker.
Prepare, complete, and submit required compliance forms.
Assist with subcontractor onboarding and required compliance documentation.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting, payroll, and project records.
Provide administrative support for the day-to-day operation of the office.
Communicate and coordinate with employees, field personnel, unions, subcontractors, vendors, and other business contacts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
3+ years of experience in construction bookkeeping, construction accounting, payroll, or a related office management role.
Previous experience with union payroll and Certified Payroll.
Working knowledge of prevailing wage and public works requirements.
Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with construction accounting, payroll, or project compliance software.
Familiarity with DIR requirements and LCP Tracker.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative when additional information or clarification is needed.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
