Staff Accountant Job Description

WVSL Solutions, based in Morgantown, West Virginia, is seeking a staff accountant in Morgantown, West Virginia. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is responsible for providing financial support for a multi-location non-profit organization with operations primarily in Morgantown and Charleston, WV. This position will be responsible for reporting on the financial activities related to the Recovery Housing, PEER Supportive Services, Behavioral Health, and Corporate Divisions. Duties include, but are not limited to, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable maintenance, financial report preparation, and other duties as assigned. This position will work collaboratively with the Senior Grant and Senior Financial Accountants. Strong organizational and time-management skills are required. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is needed.

Essential Duties Include:

Processing accounts payable, coding invoices correctly.
Maintaining accounts receivable.
Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Recording and reconciling credit card transactions.
Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
Assisting Senior Grant and Senior Financial Accountants, Controller, and Executive Director as needed.

Qualifications:

Accounting degree.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Microsoft Excel experience required.
QuickBooks experience, preferred.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Good problem-solving and time management skills.
Ablitility to work in a team environment as well as on your own.
Two+ years of accounting experience.
Ability to promote and adhere to the workplace values of integrity, respect, trust, teamwork, quality, and excellence.

Education, Experience, Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Two+ years of accounting experience. Any experience with a non-profit, with multiple grants, or in a clinical setting is a plus.
Working knowledge of GAAP
Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Time experience is a plus.
