Full Job Description

This position, Botanical Engineering Supervisor, is based in Morgantown, WV and reports to the Reliability and Performance Manager. The Engineer will be responsible for a range of engineering tasks at the Power Plant, collaborating in both team and individual settings to support plant operation, maintenance, and enhancement. Utilizing existing engineering expertise, the individual will contribute to various projects and assignments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Rotate through operations, maintenance, and material handling departments to familiarize with plant equipment, processes, and personnel.
Collaborate with teams to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Offer technical guidance to Operations and Maintenance on procedures, repairs and projects.
Assist in project development and evaluation of material supply and installation proposals.
Lead project execution to ensure budget and schedule adherence.
Coordinate contractors for testing and maintenance tasks.
Participate in station programs including Root Cause Analysis, unit and equipment evaluation, outage planning and execution.
Implement PdM technologies for detecting equipment issues in coordination with Reliability and Performance team.
Maintain compliance with all permits and engineering standards.
Develop and maintain a backlog of assigned Work Orders.
Collaborate with different plant departments to enhance processes and procedures.
Participate in Management of Change suggestions and improvements.
Ensure adherence to OSHA safety regulations.
Research and recommend alternative methods for equipment monitoring and maintenance.
Create Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions as needed.
Stay updated with industry practices and technology, and share knowledge with others.
Adapt to organizational changes and take ownership of decisions and performance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience with Engineering Degree (preferably in Power Generation) or 10+ years in a Technical Role in Power Generation.
Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and trends.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Project Management experience is a plus.
Proficiency in software applications such as OSIsoft PI, AutoCAD, Intertek AWARE, Maximo, Emerson Ovation, TapRoot.
Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical systems.
Extensive experience with various software applications like Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Access, etc.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively.
Capability to handle changing situations under pressure and work extended hours when needed.
