Family Law Paralegals perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of one or more attorneys in the office. A Paralegal’s primary goal is to support our family law legal team with casework, including but not limited to legal research, financial analysis, drafting initial pleadings, and complex legal documents such as pretrial memos, financial statements, discovery, and orders.

Compensation:

$40,000 - $60,000 Base Plus Bonus

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and schedule court hearings, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared.
Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas, with precision and attention to detail.
Manage discovery processes, including document collection, organization, and review, to support case strategies.
Conduct thorough legal research to assist attorneys in building strong, evidence-based cases.
Assist in case management by maintaining accurate records and tracking case progress to ensure timely resolutions.
Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and answering questions to build trust and rapport.
Collaborate with attorneys and team members to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Communicate with clients, experts, and other parties to provide updates and gather information/evidence; answer basic questions about the status of the case
Log communications in the case management system
Manage and monitor case progress, deadlines, and important timeframes/milestones.
Review, analyze, and summarize evidence.
Draft documents including but not limited to financial statements, child support calculations, mediation statements, discovery requests, discovery responses, complex motions, orders following hearings, pre-trial memorandums, final orders, appeals, appendices, and any other documents requested by the attorney. Send approved documents to the legal assistant for filing/mailing.

Qualifications:

Experience in preparing and managing legal documents with precision and efficiency.
Ability to assist attorneys in family court hearings, providing reliable support and maintaining organized records.
Proven track record of conducting thorough legal research to support case strategies.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and keep them informed throughout the legal process.
Proficiency in maintaining and updating case files, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
Collaborative spirit to work seamlessly with the legal team in developing and implementing case strategies.
Organizational skills to schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances efficiently.
A Paralegal shall have a high school diploma, but advanced training at a college or university and/or possession of a paralegal certificate is preferred.
